OPINEL
The Opinel knife appeared in the family of a former hawker blacksmith who worked iron in Savoie. His son took over the workshop in Albiez-le-Vieux, near Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, to become a popular manufacturer of sharp tools. The knife was developed in 1890 by Joseph, and its particularity is to exist in sizes going from n°1 to n°13. The know-how of the brand combines the work of the blade and the handle. The shape of the handle has not changed since its creation in 1890. The brand brings an image of a traditional and authentic tool, well designed and reliable. At the same time at the cutting edge of technique and inheriting knowledge and traditions, the knife is an accomplished and practical tool. The brand is still manufacturing in Savoie close to Chambéry. The current catalog offers traditional knives, but also knives for outdoor, cooking, DIY, gardening, children, and some additional accessories: sharpening stone, cases, keychains...etc
